Has anyone else in here read it?

I'm especially curious about what native English speakers think of the way the characters speak. I'll happily believe that they did speak like that at the time which the story takes place in, but then again - I wouldn't be terribly hard to convince, so I keep wondering how it seems to native English speakers.

I recently finished the Last Witchfinder, and found it... okay.

My main problem was that I had a hard time believing Jennent's reaction to things--she just didn't always come across as female to me (and I've always been a pretty serious tomboy since I was quite small).

My second problem was that I didn't always believe it as a period piece. I'm a big fan of historical settings for mysteries, and I didn't get the same feel from this story that I do from other historically set pieces.

That's not to say I didn't enjoy the book. I just didn't always feel true to me.
